I have told you this so that my joy may be
in you and that your joy may be complete.
John 15:11

When I started blogging in December 2009, I did so because the Lord had laid it on my heart.  The first I knew about blogs, I read about when we still lived in St. Louis and I sold real estate.  I had read about how people used their blogs to promote them and their business.  I filed it in the “maybe someday” folder in my head.  Then we moved and for the first time in several years I had a little more free time and I began to look at blogs and read some of them.  When I finally took the leap to start one, I asked my friend Stacey some questions, asked her opinion about some things and she gave me some wonderful advice and actually, she designed the current blog layout!  Isn’t it great?
I digress…back to why I blog…as I said, I blog because the Lord laid it on my heart that is something He wanted me to do.  I do not know why.  I am certainly no Bible expert, but I do enjoy sharing on my blog, sharing how the Lord is working in my life and what he reveals to me when I read His word.  What I did not expect…was the tremendous amount of support I get from people that read my blog AND the sense of connection I get when I read other people’s blogs.  I really had no idea if ANYONE would ever read what I wrote.  Stacey shared with me the importance of commenting on other’s blogs.  She explained that a blog is kind of like a relationship, I have to nurture it for it to grow.  Nurture it by taking care of it and nurture it by visiting others, commenting and learning from them.  I have learned there must be NO BLOG MANUAL!  A blog can be about anything someone wants to write about…Stacey was right…a blog has to be nurtured and I love taking care of THIS.  Taking care of what has turned out to be my spiritual journal.  So, thank you my friends, for making my joy complete.  For taking the time to spend a few minutes here, reading my blog and commenting.  I frequently refer to my daily resources for my quiet time…Living Faith Daily Catholic Devotions and Hope for Each Day by Billy Graham.
These are the springboards for my daily quiet time.
So, in celebration of my upcoming 100th published post…I am giving away a copy of

Hope for Each Day.  This is actually a newer version than the one I use.  Each day has a place for you to journal your thoughts.  So…if you are interested in having your own copy of this book, here is how you may enter my giveaway:

1. Become a public follower of this blog and leave a comment letting me know you became a follower. If you are already a follower AND want to be entered, leave a comment reminding me you are a follower.
2. Mention about my blog and this giveaway on YOUR blog and LINK back to this post, leave a comment letting me know, that will give you another entry.
3. Leave a comment without following the blog.
4. Mention my blog & this contest on your Facebook page & leave a

I know some people have had trouble commenting publicly on my blog.  You know who you are, send me an e-mail when you have a comment and I will enter you for those comments.
RULES:
You may receive one entry daily for commenting here and one entry daily for mentioning and linking from your blog. (Total of two everyday, if you blog.  One if you leave a comment)
Entries will close at 8 p.m. eastern time on Thursday, May 20, 2010.  I will choose the winner the old fashioned way…I will put all the names in a hat and pull one out – maybe I will have John pull the name!  Anyway, I will post the name of the winner on the blog on Friday morning, May 21, 2010.  The winner will have 48 hours to contact me, I will then ship them their book.
I’ll be honest, folks, I am a little nervous that I have somehow made this too complicated or messed it up…but my heart is in the right place.  If I am unclear about something, let me know.  I will probably not be back until Monday morning…we will be leaving for the wedding tomorrow.
Have a blessed day and a great weekend.  Thank you to all of you that are praying for Andy.  God is in control!  He told me to move over and let Him drive…and I am trying!!
