I love this verse.
I’ve heard it many times. Especially at weddings.
I wish I could say that I always practiced love exactly like this…but I don’t. I am not always kind and I am certainly not always patient. But I still love and I am loved. Even though I do not practice perfect love all the time.
I am so thankful for a God that loves me no matter what.
He forgives me.
He shows me what perfect love looks like.
I have a great example in my parents. They also showed me what love looks like.
The kind that endures wars.
And 7 children.
And many, many moves.
And sorrow.
And death.
And pain.
They were married for 69 years last week. After they turned 91 and 90. And I am incredibly blessed to have them for parents.
Mother and Daddy…I love you. Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Anniversary…a few days late.
So beautiful! Happy Anniversary to them. I love the picture of them.
Oh my goodness, Mary, that is the most precious picture and I love the post and scripture.
So sweet–your parents are gorgeous!
What a wonderful example for you and your siblings of parents who stuck it out no matter what for 69 years….Love had to be at the center of their marriage or it never would have worked for so long…..
I love this picture of them; they looked so in love…..
Wow! Congrats to your parents…what an amazing tribute and testimony, Mary 🙂
When I first read this post when it came to my e-mail box, I meant to stop by then and tell you how much it impacted me. Honestly, this is so beautiful, it's hard to put into words exactly what it means to someone like me ~ who has yet to have one couple in all of my extended family carry their marital commitments all the way through their lives the way your parents have done. (My dad recently married his 4th wife.) We need more couples in the church who can testify to such steadfastness of heart. Thank you for sharing your parents here with us. So beautiful.
