January 1st found me in New York City. My sister, Sherri, and her daughter, Tarah, came to visit us for a week. I was with a 19 year old girl…so you must say Yes to the Dress!
Two weeks later found me in Arkansas visiting my parents with Andy and my niece, Tarah joined us from California. This photo also includes my niece, Rebekah, her husband and 2 children. The baby was just days old.
February I didn’t travel anywhere and looking through my photos, I realize I didn’t take many pictures either!
The first Sunday in March, John and I made the short drive over to Long Beach Island, NJ to go to church and see how the island looked a few months after Hurricane Sandy. Here I am on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.
In April I had the privilege of attending Jumping Tandem the Retreat in Omaha, Nebraska. (The link is for the past retreat, but I hear it might be happening again in 2015!!) I stayed off-site because the retreat center was full. This was the view from my hotel room.
Jumping Tandem is also where I met Jennifer Dukes Lee and Shelly Miller for the first time in person. If you don’t read their blogs, then you should!
May found John and I celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Florida Keys and Sanibel/Captiva Island, Florida. The view from our room in the Keys.
And moose were standing in the road.
Later that month we returned to St. Louis for a wedding.
In July we got Leroy
And made our annual trek to the beach for the Bonner Family vacation
In August I went back to Arkansas to visit my parents. In September, John and I went to Colorado for a family function then we spent a week in Breckenridge.
I love the mountains in Colorado…
November I stayed home, but there was of course, work to do and Thanksgiving. December came and with it Christmas, another trip to Arkansas on December 26th.
The year was full of travel and adventure.
And it was full of ordinary, everyday stuff.
And I am thankful for all of it.
This year I am hoping to focus more on my writing and sharing my heart and story with you that are kind enough to read my words.
Mary- thanks for stopping by Vintage Housewife! It's great that you did a year-in-review post complete with pictures… I love seeing other people's pics, it's makes the internet not feel so big and impersonal. A friend of my also was diagnosed with Lyme disease, it went undiagnosed for over 3 years and will leave her with life-long issues 🙁
Wow! What a year you had. It's hard to believe how fast time flies. Great pictures. Looking forward to reading all you have to share in 2014. Love you, my dear friend.
I am planning on the 2015 jumping tandem retreat. Deidra is coming to Oregon about 5 minutes from my house in March for a writers retreat. Want to come too??
Awwww, Thank you for including me! I love being friends with you…again, come closer, we need coffee!
You are a Traveling Woman!
Wow … so many fun trips.
Fondly,
Glenda
