It has been months since I joined Five Minute Friday, but in my quest to get back to writing more regularly returning seems like a good step in the right direction!
Today’s prompt: HERE
Here is better than there. Where I was last year…last fall. When my head hurt. When my job was stressful.
I decided not to return.
Here I am today.
No clear direction, but I am at peace.
And without stress.
A wonderful, but scary feeling. No serious issues to deal with.
Freeing, actually.
As I walk the path of the here and now…the present, I know who goes before me preparing the way.
I’ll keep my head up and look around. Absorbing the present and the presence. Absorbing the here.
Praying that as I walk the path of here I find an answer to the what, the why and the how. But knowing if there is no answer that I can see, it is really OK.
Here is where the Lord is.
Here is where I shall be.
My path is here and HE is leading.
I will follow…
STOP
Have a wonderful weekend.
Yes! We all need to learn to be more focused on the here. I struggle so much with looking forward the next thing that I forget to be present where I am, and recognize the good things God is doing here and now. Thank you for the reminder.
AMEN! Mary, I am so glad you wrote today. Thank you for reminding me who goes before me and prepares the way!
Thank you, Barbie.
Beautiful, Mary. I'm reading Corrie Ten Boom's book, "Tramp for the Lord", currently and what you shared reminded me of some of her writing. After she was released from the concentration camp by a miracle of God, she had no idea what the next step was. Her childlike faith in the Lord guided her along the path God had for her in ministering all over the world.
Your faith and trust in the Lord is inspiring! I'm so thankful I ran across your blog on the Five-Minute link-up 🙂

I haven't read that book, but it seems inspiring.
LOVE that book as well as The Hiding Place–
Mary, I think this is one of your best posts ever–it really spoke to me in a "here" kind of way! Think of me on Tuesday morning early when I am having knee replacement surgery. Love you!
Dianne, thank you. I'm glad it ministered to you. I'll be praying for you on Tuesday!
lovely post.
thank you
Beautiful words, beautiful pictures! The one with the rocky point and the sailboat in the distance reminds me of La Jolla…is it?

Thanks, Andrew. Good call on the location…the photo was taken about 8 hours up the Pacific coast in Monterey.
