“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
God’s special possession,
that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2:9
Have I been living as if I were (and I AM) one of His chosen people? His special possession? I don’t know…I have been so overwhelmed with everything going on in my life…I go almost 7 days without a blog post, laundry piles up, I do good to get the floors vacuumed once a week and bathroom cleaned…
I have a job I love, a husband and son I adore…blessings to numerous to count…Christian friends that love me…yes, between work, home, church and school I have a lot to do…but God has blessed me so much! If I fail to drop by your blog and leave a comment, it is nothing personal…I just have limited computer time…but I feel it necessary to continue posting occasionally here because this is part of my spiritual journey…part of my spiritual jourNAL…
Last week I woke up with this song in my head almost every morning when I opened my eyes.
Lord, thank you for the gifts you have given me…for the gift of your son, the gift of my son and husband, food, shelter, warm clothing, my church and the many friends I have made since moving here. Lord, be with those that need you in a special way today and this week…help me to keep my chin up and remember that it is how I live that matters to you…help me to live my life in a way that brings honor and glory to you. Thank you, Lord…for everything…I know it all comes from you.
Friends, the semester is winding down and soon Accounting 1 will be over and Accounting 2 will be in the spring 🙂 it is challenging and time consuming, but amazingly there is something about it that I like. Go figure…
Saturday a group of friends gave me a surprise party for my 50th birthday…details later but let me say I am TRULY blessed…God is so good…how I feel and respond to this busy season of life has much to do with how I live…
Happy Birthday, sweet friend. I have you beat by three years…50 is great! I can relate to what you post today. We do get way to busy and it's so easy to forget those blessing that are ours by the Creator and gift giver. It is hard to slow down and live each moment…IN the moment! I will pray for you today, Mary. Pray that you will feel very near to God and that you will experience His love in amazing ways this week. grace and peace to you and yours ~a
I've been missing your postings–please know that you can always come over and peek in on me and not feel obligated to leave a comment–sometimes I like to read a few but just don't have time or energy to talk. I will totally understand.
I also understand if you post and don't have time to read any other blogs. That is okay. This is something you need to do right now and for one, you always bless me. I especially love the genuine and straightforward manner with which your prayers are articulated.
While profound in ways, they are still spoken with a child-like faith and trust and that I love.
Mary B, You are still continuing on in THE Walk, with HIM. Just love dropping by and reading an update from time to time. Glad to hear your first accounting class is winding down for a breather. Karen

I have a degree in Accounting and loved every course! I teach Special Ed, I guess God had different plans for me. Love the music on your site.
Happy Birthday, Mary 🙂
