On Fridays, I join The Gypsy Mama for 5 minute Fridays, that is when I am not too chicken to participate. 🙂
The rules:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Meet & encourage someone who linked up before you.
Today’s word: TOGETHER
GO…
I think about the times we have been together and I wonder how many more of those times we will have. How many more chances will we get to spend time with my parents?
At 89 and 90, still living alone I know my family is blessed to still have them here on earth. I also know that both of them are ready to go home when the Lord calls them. They have family there. They have parents and siblings there, husband of their daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren…all waiting for them in heaven.
The time passes too quickly. One week flows into the next. I am making plans to go visit them so we can be together. I don’t know when the last time on this earth will be, but I know that someday we will be together forever.
In the meantime, thank you Lord for godly parents and for the Christian home in which I was raised.
Together…one day we will be together forever.
STOP
I hope you enjoy your time together. This post was sad, loving and beautiful all at once.
Thank you, Linda.
It must be hard to be so far away from them, especially at this stage of their lives. I've heard it said that our time with our loved ones here on earth is small compared to the time we'll have (together) with them in eternity. I sure hope so!
I believe that Kathleen…that our time on earth is small compared to the time we'll have in heaven.
Hope you have a spirit filled time of grace with your parents. Memories to treasure for the rest of your days.
The memories are a treasure
This hits so close to home. We lost my father in law a few months ago, but we take such comfort in knowing we will indeed be together again. Have a blessed time with your family.
So sorry for your loss, Kimberly.
What a treasure to have godly parents and to know that you will have forever with them…so beautiful, and at the same time, I can feel your ache in your words…Blessings, Mary 🙂
Thank you for your kind words Dolly.
How incredible, and a blessing hopefully to them, they're still able to live together alone! I hope you get to see them soon…and what a comfort to know that one day, this world will not separate you 🙂
wonderful 5 minute write, Mary!
Thanks, Nikki.
What a beautiful, loving tribute to the love and legacy that they have given you!!
*hugs*
Thank you, Meredith.

Annesta, you really should try 5 minute Friday. It is a lot of things, sometimes challenging, sometimes sad, sometimes I don't participate because it is too emotional or hard but it is a great community.
