Good Morning Friends….nothing exciting, earth-shaking or even thoughtful. After my quiet time, I paid the family bills…hmm…well, I feel a lot poorer, but I am so thankful that I have the means to pay the bills. My family is blessed with my husband having a job and in this economy, I am very thankful for that!
Here are some thoughts I recorded a few months ago that seem appropriate today:
Little things in life…a sunrise, a sunset, a rain shower on a spring day, a spider web nestled in the weeds on a crisp fall morning…do we really take the time to be thankful for such things. This morning as I walked my dog along the path near my home, I was amazed at the number of spider webs along the path in the weeds. Intricate, delicate webs…some with a bug or insect ensnared, some just there…beautiful works of art, damp with dew, glistening in the sun. God’s handiwork is so evident around me, yet often I get busy and don’t take the time to be thankful for the little things in life. I get hurried, rushed. I lose site of what is really important in life. I am reminded of what happened to Peter in Matthew 14 when he took his eyes off of what was important, the Lord, and then he began to sink. So, I am trying to make sure that I take the time everyday to spend a few minutes with the Lord, reading his word and praying.
Lord, help me to see my blessings and make time for what is important and be thankful in all things.
I hope you have a blessed day!!
Peace…
Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by my little spot in the blogosphere! You've carved out a nice little spot yourself. Hope to hear more from you soon! Blessings!
Being thankful – definitely a necessary focus.
Thank you for sharing! By the way, the path where you walk your dog sounds beautiful – a picture of that would be nice!!
Hi! Thanks for commenting on my blog. I have enjoyed visiting your blog. You are so right in that the little things in life are little gifts from God. Sometimes, I think we are so busy looking for all the wrong things that we miss the blessings of ordinary things!
