Stefanie & me |
In just a few days I will be heading to the Allume conference. Once there, I will have the opportunity to catch up with friends I met last year and connect with new friends I have made online in the last year.
I am picking up my friend, Stefanie, up at the airport Thursday afternoon.
It will be fun to meet, in real life, some of the women who have made an impact on my life through the world of blogging.
There is a lot of excitement and anticipation involved when heading to a conference.
What will I wear?
What will I take?
I need to find just the right top to go with a certain pair of slacks.
There are accessories to consider and possibly the most important…what snacks am I taking!?!?
Questions have been raised…are you taking your laptop? Will you take notes on a computer or old fashioned pen and paper? Will you be attending the ___________ meet-up?
Then I saw this tweet…
All packed for #Allume. Got tired of thinking about what I was going to wear. Preparing my heart is SO much important & my focus now.

And suddenly accessories, clothing, snacks, meet-ups, etc. all seem so much less important.
But then…isn’t preparing our heart to listen to HIS voice the most important thing ALL the time? Conference or no conference?
Sometimes in this life the noise of life blocks out his voice. I am praying that I can quiet the noise of my life and prepare my heart to be open and ready to absorb all he has in store for me at Allume. I have a lot to do before I leave on Thursday, but I know if I work at at listening, then I will HEAR.
Does the noise in your life sometimes drown out his voice? What do you do to quiet that noise?
