Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
Dare I say that the prophet Habakkuk was enduring some difficult times?  Obviously, he was.  Read the rest of the passage…or the book for that matter.  Yet, he says I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

Oh that I would have the grace and the courage and the faith to pray that prayer.
To utter those words.  Even in the midst of difficult times.
Lord, my life isn’t anywhere near as difficult as Habakkuk’s.  I know that.  Thank you for the reminder this morning.  I have many, many blessings and you have shown yourself in recent weeks in unbelievable, amazing and fantastic ways.  Thank you.

Lord, thank you for special friends that pray with me, listen to me and encourage me.  Please grant safe travel to friends that are flying home today.
For the many blessings, for the trials, for the ways you make yourself known to me, Lord…thank you.
For the beautiful sky I saw as I backed out of my driveway yesterday…thank you, Lord.

If you have been here in recent weeks, you know that I have felt dry and desolate.

Words have not been flowing.  I am praying that the Lord will bring me out of this funk.

That I can find my way back to a good place for writing.

In the last few months, the Lord has shown up in ways that are beyond understanding and comprehension.  Just when I think things are about to hit bottom…in walks the Lord with an answer and a way completely OUT. OF. THE. BLUE.  Many of these things cannot be shared on this blog…but know that I appreciate your prayers, if you’ve been praying for me.  I also appreciate your patience.  Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.

The scripture I chose today is used on the May calendar available at inCourage.  Did you know they have a calendar available every month that can be used as computer wallpaper?  I love it.

Today, I am having lunch with Kathleen and Matt. Then, I get to have fun with Matt while Kathleen has an appointment.

I am basically done with work for the semester…which is wonderful.  I hope to get some things done around my house this summer and I hope to have an announcement on this blog in the next week or so about a new adventure on which I will be embarking.

What are you doing these days?
