“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22 & 23
Today, will I choose to be like Him? Will I choose the fruits of His Spirit…love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control? Or will I choose to re-act to things that happen in my life today in such a way that is VERY HUMAN and NOT pleasing to Him?
Max Lucado has a some great thoughts in his book When God Whispers Your Name. There is an excerpt from the book on Max’s website, and I would link directly to the excerpt, but I think it might change on occasion and I don’t want the link to not work…so visit Max’s site and click on READ, the BOOK EXCERPTS. Currently, chapter 11 is posted.
Lord, in the midst of all this craziness, please calm my spirit and fill me with the fruits of YOUR spirit. Please help me to be kind and spread goodness, to be gentle and to exercise self-control. Lord, You know the challenges I am facing and I ask Your blessings upon me to give me the courage I need to run the race and finish the course. Challenging times are ahead, Lord, but I know with You holding my hand and carrying me when needed, I can finish…thank you, Lord.
Friends, I pray that you are in the palm of His hand….
Dear Mary,
I am agreeing with your prayer praying that all these things are granted to my special blogging friend.
You are up for the challenge! You are more than victorious through Christ our Lord.
Loving you,
Dianne
I wanted to stop in and tell you that I've been praying for you. I know the Lord will give you guidance and order your steps.
Also, I am so blessed by your gratitude post…especially the part you added to about your hubby helping you out.
And to hear the good news that your son has settled into a church. Rejoicing with you…and good luck on that final!
I prayed this prayer with you, Mary. Thanks, it was a good one!
