Sometimes it is hard to keep going, to continue reaching and working to achieve, to keep on keeping on, yet we are promised a harvest if we do not give up. As I posted here, my plans for the summer haven’t exactly gone as I had planned. Things I had hoped to do haven’t gotten done, due to obligations that arose. I haven’t even blogged as regularly as I had hoped and planned to, yet God is good. My summer, while not going like I planned, is really just fine. God continues to bless and remind me of His presence in my daily life. So I continue counting…knowing that a harvest awaits me.

So, my summer hasn’t gone as planned…it is going according to His plan. Adding another layer to the texture of my life, memories created from unplanned circumstances, time to talk and listen.
In some ways, this summer is kind of like this pineapple…prickly on the outside, but sweet, luscious fruit on the inside. This summer is changing me in ways I never dreamed possible.
Lord, thank you for the unexpected, the ways that you are working that I never dreamed of, the things I never saw coming, but I know you have a hand in them. Please continue to work in the situations that are in my heart.

I love the pineapple analogy! And the adding layers of texture…just lovely.
Praying for you dear friend

Thank you, Mary, for taking the time to read my list and leave a comment on my blog. It is a comfort to know that hard things that unexpectedly come our way are not a surprise to our Creator. He promises in HIS word that ALL things work together for good to those who love HIM. Counting the gifts has become a powerful practice in my life as we've been walking the unemployment journey since January. But God continues to show his faithfulness and provision reminding me again ALL things work together for good.
Sweet Blessings to you,
Pam
I too love the analogy fo the pineapple, imagine if no one ever open the prickly flesh of the fruit and took in the sweetness God provided. The Prickly sometimes protects us as well. Have a blessed day, glad I stopped by.
What a blessing to have peace without having the answer! I loved the post about the orchid too. I am an orchid killer…I'd received a beautiful one years ago, and it didn't make it. You have been blessed with a green thumb. Thank you for sharing your list this week. Blessings!
