It is FINALLY Friday! I am anxious to share some things with you that will make your life better, I promise!! This week has seemed very long. That is probably because I usually get plenty of sleep and this week I have a severe sleep deficit! On to the fun stuff. Some of these are affiliate links and it won’t cost you a thing to use them, but I might get a benefit of a few cents if you do.
And…some of these would make great Valentine gifts. Maybe buy it for yourself!
Are you familiar with Ebates?
If not, then you take a minute to familiarize yourself with this easy to use way to get FREE money!! It is a program that costs nothing to sign up. When you download and install it, the program knows when you shop with a store that is offering a rebate. I shop online a lot and many of the stores I use online participate. Certain Amazon purchases qualify too. Retailers like Kohls, Bon-Ton, Macy’s and WalMart. Here is an explanation of how it works. I am not buying extra things, I am buying things I would by anyway! Click this link, signup and start getting money back.
How about HomeChef?
My friend, Susan Stilwell, told me about a home meal delivery service called HomeChef. Fresh ingredients delivered to your door for a reasonable price and she said the food has always been good. I used her link and guess what…Ebates popped up! My meals are being delivered next week and I am looking forward to trying them. I ordered Crispy Dijon Chicken and Korean Pork Tacos. Doesn’t that sound delicious?
And all meals are supposed to be able to be prepared in 30 minutes or less. When I created an account a coupon popped up for a $30 discount if I ordered in the next 60 minutes. I ended up ordering 2 meals, so my discount was less than $30, but with my discount and the Ebates, I have two meals for two people for less than $10/meal! I call that a win…less than carryout and will be great for a night when I am busy. If you want to give HomeChef a try, check them out here.
Don’t forget about Valentine’s Day coming up in just over 2 weeks. DaySpring has a sale you won’t want to miss!
One of my favorite all time easy recipes is my brownie recipe. If you are looking for an easy chocolate recipe to serve to your family or your sweetie for Valentine’s Day, check out my Easy Peasy Brownie post from 3 years ago. For a fancy presentation, cut the brownies into bite-size pieces, put a few pieces in a wine glass, top with a scoop of ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream. YUM! I’m hungry now…
A new devotional book?
Are you looking for a new devotional book for your quiet time? I was recently introduced to Dr. Brenda Rambo the author of Whispers of the Spirit. This is a well written, hardback devotional with full-color photographs. One reviewer wrote the book helped “lead me into a place of quietness in my devotional time.” Sometimes we need a little help quieting our mind. This book whispers softly to the soul and does just that.
Looking for an online community?
There are a couple of online communities you might want to check out. GraceTable describes themselves like this: “We like to think of GraceTable as a virtual soup kitchen, a “free space” where hungry hearts and souls can find nourishment. We want to be known by our love. We want to sit long at the table amongst friends and strangers alike until the barriers fade.” Kris Camealy is the hostess that dreamed up this wonderful place. I am honored to get to write there.
Another place I enjoy is The Consilium. Dreamed up by my friend, Diane Bailey, The Consilium is a place for women in the later stages of life…meaning no one still had toddlers at home. There are people with kids in school, but no one has babies. While there many contributors, one of my favorite posts recently was written by Diane herself…all about learning to trust. One of my favorite lines from the post is “God doesn’t need my help to provide my needs.”
These are some of my favorites from around the web…what are some of your favorites? Please share them in the comments so I can check them out!
Great finds, Mary — thanks for sharing! You’ll have to blog about one of your Home Chef meals. Maybe the Korean Tacos? They sounded delicious!
And thank you for the Ebates tip! It’s amazing how many places they pop up!
Thanks, Susan! I am really excited about the meals. I will have to write about it!
